When mentioning VNG, many immediately think of it as the "big brother" of Vietnamese startups, the pioneer in technology in Vietnam. But few know that, over its 20-year journey of development, VNG's greatest pride has always been in "developing its people." Alongside its working environment and welfare, VNG also places great importance on connecting its employees with their families and children through the annual event known as VNG Family Day.
VNG Family Day combines the concept of Vietnamese Family Day with the unique corporate culture of a tech enterprise. Established annually since 2022, this event connects generations of family members of over 2000 VNG employees. It is one of the well-invested activities by VNG, both in content and form.
With its superior technology platform, VNG has collaborated with Cyber Kid Vietnam to bring the Safe Internet Education model to "young starters." Nearly 100 children, offspring of VNG's employees (referred to as "Starters" by VNG), have participated in challenges identifying online dangers and gained skills in proper internet usage. "The children of VNG employees are very tech-savvy. Each year, we see their understanding of internet usage mature significantly," shared a teacher from the VNG Cyber Kid Training class.

"At VNG, we highly value the culture of sharing, not only among different generations within the company but also extending to their families and the community. VNG has conducted Cyber Safety classes and online skill courses for 600 personnel, totaling over 11,000 hours of learning. At Family Day, VNG continues to organize Cyber Safety classes for children, and in the future, we plan to expand this program to many schools to equip students with safe and effective internet usage knowledge," said Ms. Tran Xuan Ngoc Thao, Director of HR and Communications at VNG.
If Cyber Safety classes serve as a "shield" to equip children with internet usage skills, the STEAM education model ignites passion for Science and Technology among them. STEAM consistently receives maximum satisfaction ratings from VNG employees in the activities during VNG Family Day each year. Specifically, with support from education experts at Algorithmics, children learn how to use technology and develop essential skills for the 21st century such as Coding, Visual Programming, and Stylish Robot through an engaging narrative-based approach.
In addition to educational activities, VNG also encourages employees and their families to engage in community responsibilities together. A highlight of this year's Family Day was an exhibition space for artworks by children with disabilities, organized in collaboration with the Association for Support of Disabled People and Children (ASVHO). In this space, children and families could creatively engage in handicraft activities such as clay painting, fabric bag decoration, and family card designing. With over 500 participants and more than 200 creative works, it was the most visited space at the event.
"My family had quality time preparing together and participating in activities. It was truly a great family time", shared Mr. Thanh Hai, a member of the Zalopay team, about his experience at VNG Family Day.
It's not an exaggeration to say that even the 'next generation' must have a bit of the athletic spirit like their 'predecessors.' The swimming competition held at the event venue was a fiery gathering point, with nearly 150 young swimmers competing.

Another goal of the event is to build parental pride and reassurance by allowing parents to witness firsthand their children's working environment through the Parent Tour. Parents experienced a tour of the VNG Campus, exploring the facilities and gaining deeper insights into their children's work. "I feel very reassured. The tour helped me understand my child's working environment. It's a dynamic and creative place, and I'm very proud of my child", shared a parent of Starter Hoang Dat from VNG Digital Business.

In 2023, VNG was honored to be ranked 25th among large enterprises and was one of the three Vietnamese companies listed in the Great Place To Work in Asia by the Great Place To Work organization. According to surveys conducted by GPTW, 94% of VNG employees feel proud to tell others about the company they work for. By early 2024, the Great Place To Work certification once again affirmed VNG's outstanding work environment, characterized by a dynamic corporate culture, inspiration, and a strong emphasis on human values.
